Hard candy with a surprise center...

So the infamous February 14th came and went....and I survived haha.  I have honestly never had a good Valentine's Day/Singles Awareness Day since before the 9th grade!  However...change is always around the corner and this year's was AMAZING!  The morning started off with Christen and I going to tan, then Jamboree practice at 12...boo.  Then Christen, Hannah, Lindsey, Jessica, Heather, Rickey and I all met up to go see Confessions of a Shopaholic.  (Btw...Rickey Stewart, pic of us below, was my Valentine! So cute!)  The movie was HILARIOUS.  No joke.  I loved it.  After the movie we went to the cookie factory!  (My fave)  Then we all got dressed up...Hannah and Lindsey left to meet up with some others...and then Mimi, Amber, Sarah, and Robert met up with us to go to Shogun!  We had a BLAST!  It was seriously too much fun!  Hands down this was the best Valentine's Day I have had so far.  Everyone had such a great time!  So here are some pics below!

A weekend of hallelujah's

So this past week has been very eventful.  But I would like to start with Thursday morning while I was at work.  I picked up my phone to check the time and started telling my "menace" child to stop pestering everyone...looked back at my phone and I had opened facebook. (It's just a button...I do it all the time.)  I noticed I had a message in my inbox so I opened it.  It was a message from Mike Gurganus saying that Tommy McTee had died.  I immediately called mom, she hadn't heard yet, so she said she would call me back.  I was overwhelmed with sadness.  My older sister was much closer to Mr. McTee than I was because growing up she and his daughter Bethany had been best friends.  But anyone who knew Tommy couldn't help but love him.  He was an incredible Christian man who truly lived life to its fullest for God.  My prayers are with Jan, Bethany, and Eli in these hard times but I rejoice knowing that Tommy is home.  I want to live my life in such a way that when I go, people KNOW I am going home to my Lord.

Sooooo this past weekend Pleasant Grove COC, where my sisters attend, went on a retreat to Gatlinburg.  I cannot say how good our God is.  Colton (my little brother who's not actually related to me) was baptized!  And the entire youth group was restored!!  How GREAT is our God?!  My older sister, Lee, wrote this poem and I could not have said it better:

Tommy McTee: A Christian
A Christian died
and one was born.
A Christian died
and a youth group was restored.
A Christian died
and God said "Come home my child and want no more."

Good is good.
My Valentines Day is yet to come.

Change is gonna come...

So I randomly went home this weekend.  It wasn't exactly planned but I am so glad I did =)
Friday morning I called my best friend, Diana, told her I was coming home, picking her up in Woodstock, and bringing her home Sunday on my way back.  Oddly enough ... she said "Awesome!" So I left Montgomery around 2....picked Diana up in Woodstock ... and headed to my sisters for supper and PORTER time =)!  He has learned to say "dada" and he LOVES to jump!  He is getting SO big!  Lee made an amazing supper!  And Diana and I played with Porter-man while I helped Lee create a blog!
Saturday my mom, Diana, Samm, Ty, and I went to the ladies day at Pennville Church of Christ where Cindy Colley spoke.  It was wonderful...exactly what I have been needing!  Needless to say I am somewhat turning over a new leaf...making some improvements and well...just tying up some loose ends.  After the ladies day we went to Samm's ball game...they won =) and everyone definitely knew her family was there when we all yelled "are you not gonna call a foul?!" when a girl on southeast's team punched Samm in the mouth.  And yet...still no call. haha.  That night Diana and I stayed up and talked ... it was so great, I have really missed her.  Its so strange (and a blessing at the same time) to see the changes we have been and are making in our lives compared to a year ago.
Sunday I went Pleasant Grove with the fam, drove after church and picked up Casey, and then Diana, Casey, and I met my fam, the Reaves, and Lee, Jerm, and Porter at Subligna for a singing.  It was so wonderful to be around our Christian family that we don't see that often AND I got in a little extra Aunt Am - Porter time =).  Casey even led my favorite song, It is well with my soul, I was so proud since he was at a church he had never been to with people he had never met!  Afterwards we drove back to school stopping only in Adairsville for taco bell and Woodstock to drop Diana off.
Well that was my short but eventful weekend!  It was wonderful and I am truly blessed.
