An Apple A Day...

...Doesn't help keep the dentist away =(
So I haven't written my boyfriend blog because this week Arizona has been out to get me.  FIRST I had a bad run-in with a cactus this week.  (Pics and full explanation coming)  And now...drum roll please...I may have to have a root canal.  Yes folks, the dental hygienists daughter has to have a root canal.
I have had an ache in the top, back of my mouth for about a year.  My mom and I assumed it was just my wisdom teeth coming in....I don't have wisdom teeth on top.  So this week my mouth was throbbing and it kept giving me headaches.  I felt to the back of my mouth and was pretty sure I felt a hole.  I called mom and after lots of yelling (haha if you know my mom she doesn't really yell)...I went to the dentist.
I called a local dentist in Sierra Vista and they were GREAT...saw me that day AND were SO nice.  They confirmed my fears...there's a big hole.  The dentist there thinks I need a root canal so he referred me to a local endontologist.  After talking to them this morning I have a consultation Monday to make sure I need a root canal.  Mom thinks maybe I don't since he didn't look at my roots.  However, if I do need one they told me they could schedule it for the following week...so we will see. =/  Lets hope for no root canal!
Welcome to my life this past week...ugh.

Happiness.

Porter Sentell makes me happy like no other.  I just had to share this precious moment....
So mom calls me the other day to tell me that Porter had went to the corner of the living room (where my senior portrait is sitting in the floor...it's been there forever haha) and he picked up my senior portrait and carried it around the house shaking it, laughing, and talking to it.  At one point he thought mom was going to take the picture away from him (she was just telling him to stop chewing on the plastic) and he got UPSET.  So cute.  Samm got a pic of it on her phone...it's kind of blurry, but precious still.

So our Tombstone trip might be postponed.  Kelly, Luke's girlfriend is flying in tomorrow...we all thought today for some reason.  And due to the boys work schedules and the fact that it's suppose to RAIN tomorrow!! YAY! ...We are probably going to postpone the trip.  However...no complaints here =) ...i love the rain.
I've also started running again....lets see how long this lasts haha.

Roadtrip 2009

So like I said at the end of my last blog, Emilie Stephens, Emily Medlin, and I left Montgomery at 8 a.m. May 8th!  I was so proud of their packing skills!  They each only packed one small bag!! (This is a big deal for Em!)  With our printed out mapquest && google maps directions we began our 24 hr drive to Sierra Vista, AZ!  We stopped at all the welcome centers haha =)
Hello Mississippi!

Hello Louisiana!

Us finding out we had 976 miles to go on I-10 =0

Hello Texas!

Hello New Mexico!

Yayyyy for Arizona!

Finding out we had 976 miles on I-10 almost made us want to cry! haha.  Really though, the first day went by super fast. The drive wasn't bad at all.  We only had one fight =) haha.  We stopped that night in Texas (outside of Abilene) and left the next morning around 5:30 a.m.  The Saturday drive seemed to take FOREVER!  New Mexico was the prettiest state!  And we got stopped by border patrol!  It was pretty much hilarious!  We made fun of them all the way to Arizona.  When we were finally at the Arizona line we were only about an hour to an hour and a half from Sierra Vista.
All in all it was a great trip.  I'm so lucky to have such great friends who drove the 24 hrs with me!  I will post another blog soon of some pics of us IN Sierra Vista.  I will also post  blog introducing the boyfriend. =)

Nothing on my mind but Georgia...

Here are some pics from my week at home =)

True love.

Porter-man walking.
I have so much blogging to do!  So much has happened in the past few weeks and I haven't been on here to blog.  First of all...I passed all my classes =) 3 A's a B and a C! Woo-hoo.  Next...I turned 21 =) so much fun.  But most importantly I have moved to Sierra Vista, AZ for the summer! However, I will blog about AZ later...for now I will stick to my week at home!  I will do the AZ trip in several blogs.
After I finished my finals on Thursday April 30th...I was DYING with the flu.  It was awful.  So Casey and Lindsey helped me pack up all my things and pack my car so I could go home.  I really do have such amazing friends.  I was home for 6 days...I kept Porter that Monday-Thursday and we had a BLAST.  My little man is walking and talking jibberish...and it is PRECIOUS!  I spoiled him to death!  I couldn't stand seeing him cry so I let him sleep with me holding him instead of in his crib! =0

I just love him so much. That Thursday, May 7th, was my 21st birthday!  I am so blessed!  One of my closest friends from high school that I haven't seen in 3 years came to the house!  Then Ashley drove from Athens to see me on my birthday before I left for AZ =)!  So our house was PACKED!  It was my family, the Reaves family, Casey, Christy, and Ashley all at the house for my birthday dinner.  It was so great!  Shaleen and Patrick came too!  (I almost forgot!)  I had to leave at 7:30 that night and head back to the gump to meet up with Mimi and Em.  We left for AZ at 8 am the next morning!

My best friend..

I have a best friend of whom I have failed to really mention in this blog.  I love her more than life itself and although things between us are not great right now...she still means the world to me.  I just want everyone else to know why it is she means so much to me.

1.  She is one of the most caring people I have ever met.
2.  She will do ANYTHING for her students.  She makes them cupcakes and cookies on their birthdays and she even keeps bread, peanut butter, and jelly in her desk in case they're hungry.
3.  She is athletic enough for the both of us.  We all i know I have two left feet...but Miranda is pure athleticism.  (I don't think I used that word right but hey, thats me)
4.  We share a love of history =)
5.  We have gone to camp together for at least 10 years.  I know its longer but I don't know when we actually started going together.
6.  We have always dreamed of counseling in G-4 together.
7.  She is THE funniest person I know.
8.  Going with #7 she always makes me laugh and makes me feel better if I have a bad day.
9.  We don't care to make idiots of ourselves.
10.  She's my partner in crime.  True story.
11.  She is really and truly an amazing Christian woman.
12.  She is one of the best Aunt's to Lilly...ever.
13.  We love to hate the same people.  It makes it that much more fun.  haha.
14.  Late night talks with her in the bunks at camp are the best.
15.  She is RIDICULOUSLY creative.  It's amazing really.
16.  The games she and Philip come up with at camp are SO fun...you can't help but love them.
17.  She always has a shoulder for me to cry on.
18.  She always has a smile on her face.
19.  She's the only person I know that's as crazy as me.
20.  She's the only person I know, aside from me, that enjoys being modest.
21.  Along with #20...we like to be the "modesty police" at camp.  too fun! We always bring enough gym shorts and t-shirts to go around =)
22.  Cornerstone signs.  Enough said. hahahahahahhahahahaha
23.  No one can "shake their bushy tails" quite like us.
24.  We understand each other...and always have.
25.  She and I are pretty much soulmates.  We're just both girls...=/
26.  She can always make me happy when no one else can.
27.  She is amazing.  And I love her.

I'm sorry it's been so long since I've last blogged!  SO many things have been going on!  I should have blogged about Jamboree...but I didn't.  I should have blogged about the snow...but I didn't.  I'm sorry!  Things have just been so hectic!  But I love my life!  I am so blessed!
This week has been my spring break and I have spent every day working out with my daddy and babysitting Porter.  I am just so in love with Porter-man and so blessed to have such a wonderful family!

This is Porter and I taking a nap this week!  Dad took the pic when he came home and found us like this!

Now...My life is just amazing right now.  I cannot explain just how blessed I am!  Things are rapidly changing in my life and I just need a lot of prayers!  Prayers to guide me in the right direction.  Prayers for my decisions!  I am making some MAJOR decisions about this summer.  I have never been so happy about a decision but I need lots of prayers!  As the time gets closer...and plans fall into place I will blog more on this subject.

I would also like to say...i have the best friends in the entire world.  Emily, Emilie, Robert, and Drew (the bff club haha)...are amazing.  God has just blessed me SO much.  I cannot thank Him enough.

Hard candy with a surprise center...

So the infamous February 14th came and went....and I survived haha.  I have honestly never had a good Valentine's Day/Singles Awareness Day since before the 9th grade!  However...change is always around the corner and this year's was AMAZING!  The morning started off with Christen and I going to tan, then Jamboree practice at 12...boo.  Then Christen, Hannah, Lindsey, Jessica, Heather, Rickey and I all met up to go see Confessions of a Shopaholic.  (Btw...Rickey Stewart, pic of us below, was my Valentine! So cute!)  The movie was HILARIOUS.  No joke.  I loved it.  After the movie we went to the cookie factory!  (My fave)  Then we all got dressed up...Hannah and Lindsey left to meet up with some others...and then Mimi, Amber, Sarah, and Robert met up with us to go to Shogun!  We had a BLAST!  It was seriously too much fun!  Hands down this was the best Valentine's Day I have had so far.  Everyone had such a great time!  So here are some pics below!

Our entire group at Shogun!

A weekend of hallelujah's

So this past week has been very eventful.  But I would like to start with Thursday morning while I was at work.  I picked up my phone to check the time and started telling my "menace" child to stop pestering everyone...looked back at my phone and I had opened facebook. (It's just a button...I do it all the time.)  I noticed I had a message in my inbox so I opened it.  It was a message from Mike Gurganus saying that Tommy McTee had died.  I immediately called mom, she hadn't heard yet, so she said she would call me back.  I was overwhelmed with sadness.  My older sister was much closer to Mr. McTee than I was because growing up she and his daughter Bethany had been best friends.  But anyone who knew Tommy couldn't help but love him.  He was an incredible Christian man who truly lived life to its fullest for God.  My prayers are with Jan, Bethany, and Eli in these hard times but I rejoice knowing that Tommy is home.  I want to live my life in such a way that when I go, people KNOW I am going home to my Lord.

Sooooo this past weekend Pleasant Grove COC, where my sisters attend, went on a retreat to Gatlinburg.  I cannot say how good our God is.  Colton (my little brother who's not actually related to me) was baptized!  And the entire youth group was restored!!  How GREAT is our God?!  My older sister, Lee, wrote this poem and I could not have said it better:

Tommy McTee: A Christian
A Christian died
and one was born.
A Christian died
and a youth group was restored.
A Christian died
and God said "Come home my child and want no more."
By Lee Sentell

Good is good.
My Valentines Day is yet to come.

Change is gonna come...

So I randomly went home this weekend.  It wasn't exactly planned but I am so glad I did =)
Friday morning I called my best friend, Diana, told her I was coming home, picking her up in Woodstock, and bringing her home Sunday on my way back.  Oddly enough ... she said "Awesome!" So I left Montgomery around 2....picked Diana up in Woodstock ... and headed to my sisters for supper and PORTER time =)!  He has learned to say "dada" and he LOVES to jump!  He is getting SO big!  Lee made an amazing supper!  And Diana and I played with Porter-man while I helped Lee create a blog!
Saturday my mom, Diana, Samm, Ty, and I went to the ladies day at Pennville Church of Christ where Cindy Colley spoke.  It was wonderful...exactly what I have been needing!  Needless to say I am somewhat turning over a new leaf...making some improvements and well...just tying up some loose ends.  After the ladies day we went to Samm's ball game...they won =) and everyone definitely knew her family was there when we all yelled "are you not gonna call a foul?!" when a girl on southeast's team punched Samm in the mouth.  And yet...still no call. haha.  That night Diana and I stayed up and talked ... it was so great, I have really missed her.  Its so strange (and a blessing at the same time) to see the changes we have been and are making in our lives compared to a year ago.
Sunday I went Pleasant Grove with the fam, drove after church and picked up Casey, and then Diana, Casey, and I met my fam, the Reaves, and Lee, Jerm, and Porter at Subligna for a singing.  It was so wonderful to be around our Christian family that we don't see that often AND I got in a little extra Aunt Am - Porter time =).  Casey even led my favorite song, It is well with my soul, I was so proud since he was at a church he had never been to with people he had never met!  Afterwards we drove back to school stopping only in Adairsville for taco bell and Woodstock to drop Diana off.
Well that was my short but eventful weekend!  It was wonderful and I am truly blessed.

This is the start of something new...

I have decided to start a blog.  I don't really know what to write for my first blog so I decided to tell you 17 things about myself.  (no, not 25...I don't like the number)

1.  My first nephew was born and adopted August 9th 2008.  His name is John Porter Sentell.  I am absolutely unbelievably in love with him.

2.  I have always had my entire life planned out to the T.  I no longer have any plans really, I don't even think I want to teach, and for the first time I am truly happy.

3.  I miss Italy.  I was only there for a month and I fell in love.

4.  I hate that people assume I am an unintelligent because I am small, blonde(ish), and female.

5.  I really wish I could do volunteer work for the rest of my life...but here are some things I would like to do in my lifetime (not all volunteer)
         - own a bookstore
         - teach ESL
         - work in a museum
         - improve the literacy rate (of any town)
         - teach the gospel to as many people as I can

6.  I absolutely hate loaf bread.  Sandwiches, hamburgers, and hotdogs. UCK!

7.  I try to forgive easily...and am learning not to trust as easily...but I try to see the best in everyone...even when there is very little good in that person.  70x7

8.  I have never considered myself to be very pretty.  However, I am beginning to love myself and in doing that...I love the way I look.

9.  I have had my heart completely broken once.  And I have completely broken one heart.

10.  I have never wanted children of my own.  However, I would LOVE to adopt children from ALL over the world.  I either want 0 children...or 5 or 7.  I know, I'm strange.  haha

11.  I'm stubborn and hard-headed but as passionate as it comes.

12.  I know I will marry my prince and i will live happily ever after.  People who tell me otherwise only make me angry.  Happily ever after does exist.  But that doesn't mean everything is perfect.  If it was perfect, I wouldn't be happy.

13.  I want a yorkie.  The end.  If it is a boy I think I will name it Jasper, a girl...Rosalie.

14.  I am a princess.  I was never 3 years old...or 18.  Just ask my parents.  They will confirm.

15.  I like to eat plain lays potato chips and icing...together.

16.  I am blessed beyond measure.  God has been too good to me.  I pray I can use my blessings for His service.

17.  I miss the fun we had senior year, just the 4 of us... I miss my sisterhood being together... I miss blake lane every day... I wish Miranda lived closer to me....but this year I have YOU.
